Guest chef Preeti Agarwal joins Heirloom Cookshop for the first time to teach you how to make a classic Indian meal. This class will focus on discovering Indian regional specialties and how to use locally grown ingredients. Class will begin with a warm cup of chai and a traditional Indian treat. On the menu is:
- Roasted brassica w/fennel, garam masala, pomegranate yogurt, mint
- Kerela fish curry w/curry leaves, onions, green mango, mustard seeds, coconut
- Ghee rice w/cardamom, star anise, cilantro
- Shahi tukda (Indian bread pudding) w/brioche, ricotta, saffron, dried cherries, pine nuts
Preeti Agarwal is an Indian chef born and raised in Uttar Pradesh, India. Her cooking style is simple and enticing with the use of earthy spices, fresh herbs and seasonal produce that are synonymous with India. Many of her recipes have been a part of her own family for generations. She strives to bring contemporary Indian dishes with authentic taste and new flavors via pop up dinners, fundraisers, cookery events and private occasions around the Seattle area!
