Jake’s Women by Neil Simon
Jake is a novelist, who is much more comfortable passively observing his life as opposed to living it, taking refuge in his study and imagining conversations with the important women in his life: a snarky therapist; an abrasive sister; an adored, and dead, first wife; a daughter recalled as a child but now a young woman. Jake is desperately seeking help from these women hoping to save his marriage and ultimately himself from himself through these sometimes hilarious and sometimes tender “exchanges.” As things go, he is often interrupted by real life with actual visits from these tenacious women who have some things to say to him about himself and how he shows up in his life and his relationships.
O’Neill once again captures the dynamics of complicated relationships with humor and tenderness! Please join us for this funny and poignant play!
