    • About

Sigillo winemaker, Steve Bailey has had a passion for winemaking since 1985. When he came to Ryan and Mike during one of their weekly golf outings at Mt. Si Golf Course in North Bend, he asked if we wanted to make some wine as a group, for personal consumption. We all said, ''SURE, can we drink it tonight?'' And that began our yearly adventure. We began with only two varietals in 2005, buying grapes through the Washington Wine Club. We were amazed at how good the wines were, and after producing 4 more successful vintages, in 2009 Ryan convinced Mike to move into a commercial business. We've since located in the ''old Meadowbrook town'' within Snoqualmie, just 2 miles from that fateful golf outing.

In 2010 we produced 5 varietals: Chardonnay, Viognier, Cabernet Franc, a blend we call Confluence (named for the confluence of the three forks of the Snoqualmie river right behind the winery) and our star feature, Cabernet Sauvignon and its Reserve. We chose our contract vineyards carefully that first year and found some good partners in the AVAs of Red Mountain, Rattlesnake Hills, Horse Heaven Hills. All of our wines that year were aged appropriately in oak.

In 2011 we ewpanded our wines to include Roussanne, our now infamous ''Relativity'' a Rhone Style blend, a Syrah and a Grenache; and we firmed up our vineyard contracts.

2012 was one of the best years in Washington State wine history. We added the varietals of: Tempranillo, Mourvedre, Cinsault and Petite Verdot. We will bottle these great wines in February and July of 2014.

      2013 we'll produce 1700 cases.
