Mrs. Bramson, a wealthy, demanding hypochondriac widow, has a staff of quirky characters catering to her every whim, often with humorous displeasure. Tension builds when a young woman from the nearby sleepy village mysteriously disappears without a trace. They mystery surrounding the disappearance brings police and newspaper attention, the likes of which the town has never before experienced.
